  • Weight: Males weigh 2 – 3 pounds (800 – 1300 grams); females weigh 3 – 4.5 pounds (1400 – 2100 grams). Females can be almost twice as large as males.

  • Habitat: Arctic tundra, open prairie, marshes, and open farmland
